蘇嘉男一九三六年生於嘉義市，一九五六年台灣南部美術展獲獎之後，展開他精力十足的創作生涯。早年曾拜劉啟祥門下習畫，並陸續向台灣前輩畫家請益，養成虛心上進的精神。畫展足跡遍及台灣、大陸、日本各地。為中華民國油畫學會監事、台陽美術協會會員、南部美術協會會員。繪畫風格粗犯有力，厚塗的顏料充滿肌里效果以及斑剝的趣味。刋𤪦𤪦一九九六年繼一九九一年後第二次在南畫廊舉行個展，展出以「鼓浪嶼」和「嘉義公園」為題材的油畫近作多件。

Su Chia-nan was born in 1936 in Chiayi City. After winning an award at the Southern Taiwan Art Exhibition in 1956, he embarked on a prolific artistic career. In his early years, he studied painting under Liu Chi-hsiang and sought guidance from senior Taiwanese artists, fostering a spirit of humility and continuous improvement. His exhibition footprint extends across Taiwan, mainland China, and Japan. He served as a director of the Republic of China Oil Painting Association, a member of the Taiwan Sun Art Association, and a member of the Southern Art Association.

Su Chia-nan's painting style is bold and powerful, with thick layers of paint creating a rich texture and an intriguing play of colors. In 1996, he held his second solo exhibition at the Nan Gallery, showcasing recent oil paintings themed around "Gulangyu Island" and "Chiayi Park."
